Three State Prison employees resign in sex probe

HELENA, Mont. (AP) -
Three female employees at the Montana State Prison resigned today
after admitting they were involved in, or had knowledge of,
sexual misconduct involving a male inmate.

A county prosecutor has said there wasn't enough evidence to warrant criminal charges.
But Warden Mike Mahoney said today that, during an administrative investigation,
one employee admitted having oral sex with inmate Michael Murphy.

He says another admitted kissing Murphy and sending him inappropriate correspondence,
a third prison employee failed to report the inappropriate activities
and impeded the investigation.
A fourth employee resigned in October.
Mahoney says a fifth employee is being investigated for policy violations,
but not for sexual misconduct.
